FlyEnv is a much better alternative to Herd and Laragon.
FlyEnv includes essentially everything a web developer needs. Oh and almost forgot, FlyEnv is open-source. And if you need something, there's a good chance it will be added. Herd is more geared toward Laravel developers. You can use it for other projects, but it’s clearly designed for Laravel, and many features requires a paid plan. Laragon was great, but it still lacks many features available in FlyEnv and Herd. The last version I used was v6, it’s now at v8, but I haven’t noticed significant new features (I’m on a Mac now, so I haven’t tried the latest version). Laragon has also become paid, though it’s more affordable compared to Herd. FlyEnv limits you to 3 projects in the free version. However, you can purchase a license — and here’s the really cool part: you can get a license by donating any amount or by contributing to the project (e.g. code, translations, or promotion). |

Asking because Many managed features of Laragon were nice, i moved to Laravel Herd and got hit with all the goodies but can't manage mysql and such w/o paying. Could you make a more throughout review comparing both?
