How can I transfer a repository from an organization I own to a team inside of that organization?

We cannot directly transfer a repository to a team within a GitHub organization. However, you can assign the repository to a team by giving the team the appropriate permissions.

What to Do:

1. Add the repository to the team:

   • Go to the organization's Settings > Teams.
   • Select the team and go to the Repositories section.
   • Click Add a repository, find your repository, and assign the desired permissions (Admin, Write, or Read).

2. Optional - Transfer ownership (if needed):

   • Go to the repository's Settings > Danger Zone.
   • Click Transfer to the organization, and then follow step 1 to assign it to the team.
