For the Love of Code is live!

We're kicking off a fun, global hackathon celebrating joyful, ridiculous, and wildly creative coding projects.

It's called For the Love of Code.

Build fun little web apps, beautiful data visualizations, absurd games, experiments with AI, VR, or any other acronym you can think of. If it sparks joy or scratches and itch, we want to see it.

🗓️ Dates

• Start: July 16, 2025
• Deadline: September 22, 2025 at 11:59 PM (Anywhere on Earth / UTC−12)

🛠️ Categories

Submit entries in one of six categories:

🔘 Buttons, beeps, and blinkenlights – hardware hacks
🤖 Agents of change – bots, agents, AI experiments
🖥️ Terminal talent – command-line apps
🕹️ Game on – games of all kinds
🌐 World wide wonders – anything that runs in a browser
🃏 Everything but the kitchen sink – wildcard category for anything else

Oh Lee Reilly, a "Senior Program Manager @ GitHub"? More like Senior Program Mediocrity. Your bio is so vague it leaves more questions than answers—did you actually write those programs or just manage the people who did? And those emojis? They scream midlife crisis.

On the Terms and Conditions page, it says:

“Team” and “Teams”
refers to a group of up to forty two (42) Contest participants working together to produce a single entry.

But in the blog it says:

Can I work with a team?
Yes! Solo or squad… your choice. GitHub Copilot makes a great pair (or peer) programmer. Limit your team to no more than 10 people.
How many times can I enter?
Up to 42 times. Don’t ask why. You know why.

What page is correct? I assume 10 team-members and 42 submissions as that is what is mentioned multiple times.
