Cannot turn on "Permanently delete from Inbox" in mailbox settings

Hi,
I'm running uvdesk on Debian 12 with php 8.3 and apache2
Got everything working except is does not delete emails which causes duplicate tickets when a ticket is deleted.
I can edit the mailbox and select the option, but it doesn't work and if i edit it again it's not selected.
Any thoughts?
Related but is can it be enabled in config/packages/uvdesk_mailbox.yaml?
Community-skeleton was pulled from git this morning.
Also I've tested with php-8.1 and php-8.2 same results. Tried 8.4 but errors galore.

@dougunder In which email service provider you are getting this delete emails issue?

My mail is hosted with migadu.
Standard imap
no funny security I've never needed to generate an app password or anything.

Given I can't even turn on the setting I don't think it's related to the mail server.
