Broken links

There are a bunch of broken links here and those that link to this content where the *.html URLs for the MySTified Pythia content no longer work as of yesterday or so.

Is this a known issue by chance?

For example, the the Getting Started with Jupyter page the "Installing and Running Python: Python in Jupyter" (https://foundations.projectpythia.org/foundations/jupyter.html) link is broken.

Hmm I wonder if this was related to the release of mystmd 1.6?

Briefly yes, this was an intentional change in 1.6. Will come back to this.

@kafitzgerald could you double-check that these links are still broken when you hard-refresh the page and/or clear the cache? I just tried the page that you shared above, and the link does work for me. However it doesn't point to the URL you shared.

The URL you shared is:

• https://foundations.projectpythia.org/foundations/jupyter.html (which is old behavior)

The URL that's on that page now (for me), is:

• https://foundations.projectpythia.org/foundations/jupyter (which is correct)

@choldgraf, thanks for the reply and info.

It was the *.html links that were and still are (though it sounds like that's expected) giving a 404 error. We're in the process of changing those, which sounds like the recommended approach.

And you're right about the sidebar menu collapse. Not sure how I didn't notice that one before.

yeah - in general it's safer to link to the pagename without the .html in either case, because then it'll work regardless of whether the static site generates files like page.html (old behavior) or page/index.html (new behavior). Sorry for this annoyance for you all :-/, this will be a one time thing, we wanted to get this out the door quickly to align MyST / Jupyter Book 2 with how most static site generators do these days.
