Badges: Overview & Examples
Badges are an exciting reward system in the KidsChores Integration, earned when kids reach specific milestones. They help encourage consistency and celebrate accomplishments.
Badges are awarded based on:
- ๐ข Points Earned: Example: Earn 100 points
- ๐ก Number of Chores Completed: Example: Complete 100 chores
- Points Multiplier: Adds a points bonus to future chores (e.g., 1.5x points on completed chores).
- Tracks which kids have unlocked the badge and the history of all badges earned
1๏ธโฃ Points Multiplier Format
โ
The points multiplier can be a fractional number (e.g., 1.2x, 1.5x) and is not limited to whole numbers although you may see a message as you enter a fractional number in the dialog.
2๏ธโฃ Highest Badge Earned Calculation
โ
The "highest badge earned" is determined by the badge with the largest points milestone, regardless of whether it was earned through points or chores.
3๏ธโฃ Progress Toward New Badges
โ
Badge progress is tracked from the beginning of the chore or points history. For example, if a child already completed 60 chores when a 100-chore badge is added, they only need 40 more chores to earn it.
Badges offer a rewarding experience, encourage consistency, and allow flexibility for future enhancements. Understanding how they work can help you design the best chore and reward system for your family.
Since badges in the KidsChores System are earned from either points earned or number of chores completed, here are three themed series that progressively reward kids for their hard work:
