What is shortcut?

I often see in cables lines like this:

[keybindings]
shortcut = "f1"

but I struggle to find any documentation or even commit description that explains what it does. So, what it is?

this is used to change to another channel while in television. it's global shortcut that switches to this channel. if press ctrl-t to see the channel list you'll see it

Does it actually work to anybody? For me it just opens a window help menu ;)

yes it does, perhaps you have an issue with the keybinding itself, try using another one

what does the help menu look like? I'm guessing F1 is bound in your terminal
