This is bacause HGVS rules impose a 1 base span on insertions, so if the warning Unsupported normalization of variants spanning the exon-intron boundary is returned for an insertion, we know it must be between exon A and exon B. Therefore, the start base will always be the end base of exon A and the end base will always be the end of Exon A with intron offset of +1
